Go Sober for October with mocktails
If you have decided to take part in Go Sober for October and become a ‘sober-hero’ all the money raised will go towards Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Go Sober for October site is full of fundraising tips and tools as well as advice on how to donate. Macmillan provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. They not only support cancer patients but their families and loved ones too.
While supporting Macmillan we’ve decided to make sure you can still get into the party spirit this October with a selection of delicious mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails).

- Two slices of pineapple
- Passion fruit
- 3 tsp passion fruit cordial
- 4 tsp lime juice
- 100ml Coco Vita
- Pineapple leaves for garnish
Put the pineapple and half the passion fruit in your cocktail shaker and muddle. Add the passion fruit cordial, squeeze in the lime juice. Add ice and Coco Vita and shake. Pour into a hurricane glass and garnish with two round slices of pineapple, the other half of a passion fruit and pineapple leaves.
- 2-liter bottle of chilled ginger ale
- 1/2 can of frozen white grape juice concentrate, thawed
- 1 small basket of raspberries, rinsed and drained
Add all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir to combine. Serve in the fancy glass of your choice.
This is an ideal non-alcoholic celebration drink for any party and is a fun treat at baby showers.
Cranberry Apple Sparklers Mocktail
- 2 oz cranberry juice
- 1 oz apple cider
- 1 oz orange juice
- 1 and a half oz dry ginger soda (not ginger ale)
- 2 oz juniper soda
- Frozen cranberries, apple slices to garnish
Add all the ingredients together, mix and pour over ice and stir.
Then garnish your refreshing drink with apple slices and frozen cranberries.
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 black teabags (or 2 teaspoons loose-leaf tea in an infuser; decaf tea is fine)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 cups pomegranate juice
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 medium orange, sliced into thin rounds
- 1 medium lemon, sliced into thin rounds
- 1 medium lime, sliced into thin rounds
- 1 medium apple, cored and cut into 1/2-inch chunks
- 3 cups carbonated water
Pour the boiling water over teabags and cinnamon sticks and steep for 5 minutes. Discard teabags and stir in sugar to dissolve.
In a large jar or pitcher, combine tea, cinnamon sticks, pomegranate juice, orange juice, orange, lemon, lime, and apple. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour and preferably overnight.
Just before serving, stir in carbonated water. Serve in glasses over ice.
Virgin pina colada
- 6oz pineapple juice
- 2oz coconut cream
- 1 cup crushed ice
- Maraschino cherry
- Pineapple slice
Put the ingredients into a blender and blend well at high speed.
Pour into a tall, chilled glass and decorate with the cherry and pineapple.
